1. Safety commitment
Go Green Organic Clean LLC complies with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act (29 USC § 651 et seq.) and all applicable standards in 29 CFR Part 1910 (General Industry). Florida, as a federal-OSHA state, follows those same standards.
2. OSHA 29 CFR 1910 — standards that apply
- § 1910.1200 Hazard Communication — written plan, training, SDS access, GHS-compliant labels.
- § 1910.132–138 PPE — gloves, eye protection as indicated by task hazard.
- § 1910.141 Sanitation — potable water, adequate washrooms.
- § 1910.1030 Bloodborne Pathogens — limited scope; we do not perform biohazard remediation (see warranty disclaimer).
- § 1910.1001 Asbestos / § 1910.1025 Lead — we do not disturb these materials.
- § 1910.23–28 Walking-Working Surfaces / Fall Protection — step-stools, stable ladders, no climbing on furniture.
3. Hazard communication & GHS labeling
Every chemical product we bring onto a job site bears a Globally Harmonized System (GHS) label containing:
- Product identifier.
- Signal word (Danger / Warning).
- Hazard and precautionary statements.
- Pictograms.
- Supplier identification.
Employees receive training on label reading and SDS interpretation at onboarding and annually thereafter, per § 1910.1200(h).
4. Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
An SDS binder (physical and electronic) travels with every cleaning team. SDSs for every product currently in our supply chain are available:
- On our cleaner mobile app, offline-capable.
- On request from safety@gogreenorganicclean.com.
- At the office for in-person review.
5. EPA Safer Choice preference
Where a product with an EPA Safer Choice label exists for a cleaning task, we choose it. This reduces risk to cleaners, customers, pets, children, and the Gulf Coast watershed. Current categories where we standardize on Safer Choice include all-purpose, glass, tub-and-tile, and floor cleaners.
6. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Nitrile gloves for all bathroom, kitchen, and chemical tasks. Latex-free by default.
- Eye protection when pouring concentrates or operating pressure washers.
- Closed-toe, non-slip footwear on every job.
- Respirators (N95) available on request for customers with sensitivity, for dusty pre-clean environments, and during any heightened public-health advisory.
- Knee pads for floor work.
- Ventilation — windows cracked and vents on when chemicals are used.
7. Hazardous material handling
We do not handle, store, or dispose of hazardous waste ourselves. Any chemicals that must be disposed of (used degreaser concentrate, solvent-contaminated rags) are taken to Sarasota County's Hazardous Waste Collection Center per their posted guidelines. We never pour hazardous chemicals down storm drains or sanitary sewers.
8. Ergonomics & repetitive-stress
- Microfiber tools with ergonomic handles to reduce wrist strain.
- Backpack vacuums sized to cleaner height.
- Two-person lifts mandatory for any object > 35 lb.
- Scheduled breaks every 2 hours minimum.
9. Heat-illness prevention (Florida)
Florida summer humidity can exceed 95%. Pursuant to federal OSHA heat guidance (ref: OSHA Pub 3154-06R) and our internal safety plan:
- Cold water available at every job site (we bring it).
- A/C required at indoor sites; we decline jobs without A/C in July / August.
- Pressure-washing and outdoor work paused during heat advisories.
- First-year cleaners acclimatize over the first 14 days.
